Bringing the Grass Courts Back

Bunbury Tennis Club Courts received a new lease on life thanks to the support of major sponsor McDonalds Bunbury.

The courts have had 2 bays where the top 70 cms of grass has been taken off using the equipment as shown. This is to enable the courts to be thoroughly dethatched and will have the surface being so much firmer ready for summer. This will bring the courts back to a very good condition.

Without the support of McDonalds Bunbury as a major sponsor the Bunbury Tennis Club would not be able to improve their facilities like this and encourage more players of all ages to participate. Bunbury Tennis Club is very grateful McDonalds Bunbury and Piacentini and Son with the donation and supply of top dressing sand for their support to encourage participation in Tennis. McDonalds Bunbury have assisted the Bunbury Tennis Club during these difficult times with their continued sponsorship and will be encouraging people of all ages to get back into sport as soon as it is safe to do so.

Dear Club Members As the tennis season approaches, I wanted to touch base to let you know about the coaching on offer at Bunbury Tennis Club,  and ask that you help promote our great club and programs! • Hotshots Junior Programs

Our Tennis Australia certified programs are quality, professionally run programs for beginner to intermediate juniors. The programs use modified equipment allowing the children to pick up the skills required to progress towards playing matches more quickly. The programs are very fun and inclusive, and a great way for any child to start tennis.

  • Squad Programs

Squad programs are run by Josh and myself for more developed and keen players, on Monday’s, Tuesday’s and Thursday’s. I have had experience in all types of squads from entry level to elite, and have coached in Perth for 8 years and the south west for the last 10 years. I’m currently the traveling coach for the south west Junior teams, former SWAS coach and state wheelchair tennis coach. Our squads are very active, with a high standard set in a very fun and competitive environment. We also have a few options for adults if anyone is interested please call me to discuss 0419 913 294.

  • Cardio/Adult coaching

Our Cardio and adult coaching classes are on at various time during the week or you could organise you own “private group” any time during the week. The Cardio and Adult coaching can cater for a wide range of standards and is for both male and female. It doesn’t matter if you are just looking to hit more balls and have fun, after a couple of tips, improve fitness or preparing for an event or tournament, our coaching can cater for all. Everyone gets 1 free trial, so please give it a go!

  • Private Lessons

We also offer private coaching for all standards and ages. If you are a beginner, solid club player, midweek pennant player, national level or US college bound, I have extensive experience in all types of private lessons. I have a number of times available 9am-3pm, but before and after school times are filling up fast. Please call my mobile 0419913294 if you are interested. I look forward to seeing everyone on our club Open days 5th October for the Adults and 18th October for the Juniors and please ask you spread the word about our great programs on offer. I am also looking for helpers for our Junior Club on Fridays 4-6pm. Its very rewarding working with our great juniors and any help would be much appreciated.   Kind Regards Andrew Woodward Bunbury Tennis Club Coach
